Sea Ray Boats will auction a fully equipped 2006 185 Sport on eBay with all proceeds going to the Knoxville, Tenn., chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The approximate retail value of the boat is $30,000. Sea Ray has donated a sport boat to this cause for the past five years. Boating enthusiasts can bid on the boat beginning June 7. Bids can be placed by logging onto www.ebay.com, typing in the word “charity” in the search section and looking for “Sea Ray: Cystic Fibrosis Charity Auction.”
Bids will be accepted through June 17. The winner will be announced that evening at Knoxville’s Cystic Fibrosis “Cruisin’ for a Cure” event.
Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects about 30,000 children and adults in the United States, affects several Sea Ray employees. Pat Blake, vice president — product portfolio executive, sport boats and sport cruisers at Sea Ray, has a child with the disease. Employee Lucas McNabb also has a child with Cystic Fibrosis.
Sea Ray is part of Brunswick Corp.’s Boat Group division.
