NMEA Convention & Expo to be held in October

August 2008 News

The 2008 NMEA Convention & Expo will be the largest event for marine electronics dealers, manufacturers, distributors and other professionals held in North America this year. NMEA member companies supply most of the electronics for the recreational boating and light commercial markets.
"We have a great program of training and seminars prepared for NMEA dealers and their technical personnel," said David Hayden, President and Executive Director of the NMEA. Technicians, he said, can obtain training in the Marine Electronics Installation (MEI) standards and in the Advanced MEI standards. "Other opportunities for technicians include seeing the NMEA 2000 network in operation and attending a dedicated NMEA2000 training seminar on Friday."
The NMEA Convention will offer many networking and business opportunities, as well as education for the full range of attendees, including manufacturers, distributors, technical servicing dealers, and others associated with the industry.  It is the "must attend" event to see cutting edge technology and to obtain training.  Many manufacturers roll out their 2009 products at the Expo held on October 2.
In addition to dealer training and seminars, educational sessions, new product introductions at the Expo, dealer and manufacturer moderated debate, and numerous networking and business opportunities, the NMEA Convention & Expo offers other networking events including the NMEA Awards Banquet, the first annual NMEA/FLIR Dealer Cruise, the NAVICO Fishing Tournament, as well as a winery tour.
