Crest III XRS

Published in the September 2008 Issue September 2008

Maurell Products has been in the business of producing highest quality boats with style to match for over 51 years. Maurice Schell began that tradition when he started building boats to his specifications. That all began with his love for diving and the need to transport his equipment on a stable platform. The idea of building the motorized version of this was born at that time, so Schell started Maurell Products. Upon his passing in 1999, the company was left in very capable hands, hands with over 120 years of combined experience in the industry that have continued the tradition of quality and excellence.

This is one company that believes in using the product it manufactures. So you know if you buy one of its boats you are taking home a product you can believe in. After all, it wouldn't make it to your hands if it didn't withstand the rigorous testing completed to make sure that Crest excellence shines through. Crest definitely goes the extra mile from design to manufacturing to produce top-quality products. Its employees not only test them, but they use and enjoy them as well. Crest doesn't want you to just own its boats, this company wants you to love your Crest.

The same care for detail goes into every model. One such boat is the Crest III XRS. With the traditional and legendary Crest construction, it features the Crest patented adjustable MP-6 transom, Crest patented port side combo seat privacy unit and contoured radius seating. It is loaded with luxury features including the Clarion CD/AM/FM stereo system with power amplified antenna as well. It also has interior strip mood lighting for evening ambience and convenience. You'll enjoy the convenience of the moveable, floating cupholders as well.

There is plenty of seating available for your crew to relax and enjoy each other's company with two recliners in the bow and side layback lounge seats. This brings plenty of opportunity for your crew to spend time together with this nice, open floor plan.

New for 2008 is the Spec-Lok rail system. It features easy attachment for seat covers and/or mooring covers. It also has an acrylic bimini top with quick release adjustable struts on the frame.

At the helm you'll find convenient tilt steering, push button reset circuit breakers, rocker switches and a very stylish dash-gauge package. This model also includes a driver reclining seat with headrest for full relaxation and comfort for your captain. The seating throughout has been designed for optimal luxury. Moving further back are the conveniences of the solid rear ladder with high boarding handles for ease of climbing in or out of water. It also features heavy duty .050-inch panel system with custom railing.

This model is available in an optional performance triple-toon package. It features a large radius front deck and railing as well as stainless look front light/horn pockets. Docking accessories include stainless steel, flush mounted, pull out cleats.

All features in this line are set up to create a durable boat from the pontoons up. The pontoons have solid bulkheads which create four air-tight chambers in each tube. The nose cone and rear bubbles were designed to provide extra protection to the tubes.

The cross channels are through bolted to the M-Brackets and the deck is through bolted to the cross channels for more stability and longevity. Decks on a Crest require two people for installation, adding more expense for production, but Maurell is committed to the highest quality construction so no expense is spared-to ensure a long lasting product.

The carpet is high-quality marine grade as well. Furniture bases are made from Rotocast material with the sun deck manufactured from three-quarter-inch, seven-ply, pressure treated panels to guard against warping.

Crest takes great care in paying attention to the smallest details in production, including using piano-type hinges on gates for a quieter ride. Options for this boat include a fiberglass bar unit with sink, quick inflate and deflate sleep system, and a remote control for interior lighting that features a time delay shut off. You can find more options at the Crest website, so be sure to take a look at all there is to offer with this line. Maurell has worked hard over the years to be sure you enjoy your experience with the Crest III XRS.
