Mercury 150 OptiMax Pro XS Begins Shipping

May 2010 News
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (May 5, 2010) - Mercury Marine started shipping its new 150hp OptiMax Pro XS engine today to dealers and boat companies worldwide.
The new 150 Pro XS offers the same performance characteristics and reliability of Mercury's 250 Pro XS - the most preferred engine on most bass tournament trails
Boaters and anglers rely on spectacular torque, higher top-end speed and excellent fuel efficiency from the Pro XS lineup, and this new V6 150hp power plant delivers on all fronts.
OptiMax Pro XS engines are synonymous with winning and performance. Compared with competitors' high output 150hp engines, the Pro XS is 4.5 mph faster at top speed. Compared with the standard 150 OptiMax, the 150 Pro XS delivers 2.6 higher mph at top speed while delivering the blistering hole shot associated with all Pro XS engines.
The improved performance does not sacrifice fuel economy. Throughout the power band, the Pro XS boasts better fuel economy than the competition. At cruise speed, the Pro XS provides 15 percent better fuel economy, saving boaters big bucks at the fuel pump.
