Mercury to add 150 jobs in Wisconsin

April 2011 News
FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Mercury Marine told the Fond du Lac Reporter it plans to hire about 150 manufacturing and distribution employees.

The positions exist in a variety of departments at the company's Fond du Lac plant, including assembly, machining, die-cast, trim and warehousing, a company spokesman said.

The jobs are available due to increased engine orders; the transfer of work from Mercury's stern drive plant in Stillwater, Okla.; and the potential for increased demand for outboard engines.

"We remain scheduled to complete the move of all the work from Stillwater to Fond du Lac by the end of this year," company spokesman Steve Fleming told the paper. "The slowly recovering marine industry is leading us to add jobs and our staffing levels at the respective locations will remain flexible depending on the current demand. We're preparing to service our customers as best we can."
