Manufacturers roll out early 2012 promotions

January 2012 News

Some marine industry manufacturers are starting the new year with promotions and sales events to get consumers and organizations buying.

Ribcraft, a leading builder of professional-grade rigid inflatable boats, announced that during the month of January all sailing programs and yacht clubs will receive special discounted pricing.

Sailing programs and yacht clubs that place their order for a new RIB by Jan. 31 will receive a 5 percent discount off the total sales price. In addition, Ribcraft is guaranteeing delivery for the start of the 2012 sailing season.

"Offering special pricing for the month of January is part of our continued commitment to the sport. It's a great opportunity for new clubs to get into a Ribcraft coach or support boat or for current customers to add an additional boat to their fleet," company president Brian Gray said in a statement.

Yamaha Marine Group announced its "Proven Choice Sales Event," a new promotion that gives consumers two ways to build in additional value with their purchase of a new Yamaha outboard.

"With this new promotion, consumers really have the opportunity to extend their purchasing power," division manager for marketing Dale Barnes said in a statement. "The Proven Choice Sales Event offers real value. It's very hard to say `no' to an offer like this one."

The promotion applies to eligible new Yamaha 2.5- to 350-hp four-stroke outboards and provides the purchasing consumer a choice of either five years of warranty protection (three years of Yamaha Limited Warranty Coverage, along with a two-year Yamaha Extended Service, or Y.E.S., plan) or a credit, on select eligible models, of as much as $2,000 based on MSRP toward the purchase of goods and/or services available at the authorized participating Yamaha Outboard dealer that sold the outboard at no extra cost to the consumer.

The promotion is effective for select eligible new outboards purchased and warranty-registered between now and March 31.

BRP announced the "Experience More Sales Event" for its Evinrude outboard engine brand. During this retail promotion, U.S. consumers who purchase and take delivery of eligible Evinrude E-TEC engines from a participating Evinrude dealer will be able to select from either a package or repower offer.

Package Retail Offer: Qualified buyers who purchase a new and unused boat powered by Evinrude E-TEC can choose between 3.9 percent financing (available only on the engine) and a five-year, factory-backed limited engine warranty.

Repower Retail Offer: Qualified buyers who purchase a new and unused Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine to repower their existing boat can choose between 3.9 percent financing and a five-year, factory-backed limited warranty, plus their choice of a free rigging kit or a horsepower upgrade rebate.

"As boaters prepare for the upcoming season, the `Experience More Sales Event' provides them even more reason to stop by any authorized Evinrude dealer to learn firsthand about the power and performance of the Evinrude E-TEC and these great incentives," Evinrude director of marketing and strategic planning Christopher Berg said in a statement.

The promotion runs through April 15.
