Nautic, Boston Whaler roll out new models

January 2012 News

Nautic Global Group and Boston Whaler announced new models.

Nautic has unveiled a full-line update of its luxury Sanpan line.

After several years in development, the entire Sanpan lineup was completely redesigned, with nearly every detail of every boat updated from the deck up.

"Sanpan is and always has been the top-of-the-line pontoon," Godfrey Pontoon brand manager Bob Wachs said in a statement. "We wanted to give these boats a unique look that I describe as `casual luxury.' The furniture is similar to what you would find in a high-end media room. The graphics are classy and understated, and the helm is cutting-edge, with blue ice LED lights that call to mind luxury aircraft designs. The Sanpan is built for a pontoon buyer that has owned one or two pontoons already and now is ready to have the best."

Boston Whaler recently unveiled its new 285 Conquest Pilothouse, its first pilothouse configuration, which includes an integrated windshield-hardtop system, aft bulkhead with door and a fully enclosed, weather-protected helm.

"The 285 Conquest Pilothouse represents a bold step forward for Boston Whaler," vice president of product development and engineering Ron Berman said in a statement. "Along with the fall release of the totally redesigned 285 Conquest, the new pilothouse feature is an integral element in the evolution of our Conquest line. For boaters in more volatile weather regions, like the Pacific Northwest, the 285 Conquest Pilothouse is the ideal vessel."

The 285's amenities include abundant storage, topside and below. It provides anglers with more than enough room for their fishing equipment, and dual in-deck fishboxes with drains and pumpouts are included. The anchor tucks away in a heavy-duty stainless steel anchor roller and is operated by a standard windlass.

The boat is powered by dual 225-hp Mercury FourStroke Verado outboards, which come paired with deluxe SmartCraft helm gauges, DTS Digital Throttle and Shift and hydraulic power steering. It's available with factory-installed Raymarine electronics.
