PDB TESTED No. 150: Dorfman Pacific Co.

Published in the September 2013 Issue September 2013 PDB Tested

During a recent boat test I was asked to do an additional test while also driving boats. What can I say? I’ve got a tough gig here. Turns out, testing the Dorfman Pacific MC288 hat was just what I needed to help get the sun off my sunburned face anyway. Where was this hat when the week started?!

Our editor went online before our test and picked out this specific hat for test week. Based on what he had read online, he figured it would be a good fit for our needs. However, you never know for sure about a product until you try it out yourself and this is where I come in.

What makes this boating hat unique is the adjustable toggle for a drawstring fit, which of course is key to a good boating hat. Ideal for either men or women and available in five colors and multiple sizes, the hat retails for around $36.

The MC288 uses SUPPLEX material, which is an advanced nylon fabric that is engineered to provide a soft, supple touch of cotton, but with the strength and durability of nylon. So it not only looks great, it also feels great. Plus it includes the COOLMAX fabric, which provides three different levels of comfort. After getting a good feel for the hat, I had no choice but to sneak off with it because I truly liked it that much.
