Yamaha OEM staff gain captain’s licenses

December 2014 Industry Web Exclusive

Yamaha Marine Group said all 11 members of its OEM technical support group received the Coast Guard’s Merchant Mariner credential, or “captain’s license,” as of Nov. 17.

Yamaha OEM regional application engineers Mike Krautkremer, Craig Todd, Steve Cheri, Jarrett Young, David Ashcraft and Rob Dziekan and tournament support coordinators Chad Smith, Dan Tucker and Matt Lester joined OEM technical support department manager Brad Leatherman and OEM regional application engineer Bill Craft in the achievement.

“Pursuing the credential made sense for the team to be able to offer our boatbuilder customers an even stronger level of support and confidence,” Yamaha Marine Group OEM division manager Mark Tracy said in a statement. “The 54-hour class was rigorous; it also required 360 days on water within the last five years. Getting the license validates this experience and shows the OEM team’s commitment to providing world-class service and support.”

PDB would like to congratulate all of these people for this achievement. A special pat on the back goes out to Mike Krautkremer (pictured above) for receiving this honor. Krautkremer is a regular at our Shootout event and his knowledge and hard work is much appreciated by our entire team.
