Cobalt Boats And Marker One Make Generous Donations

January 2015 News Web Exclusive

At the end of this past fall’s annual dealer meeting at Table Rock Lake in Branson, Miss., Cobalt Boats and Marker One offered two generous charity donations to the American Heart Association and Folds of Honor.

During the week’s training session at Table Rock Lake, vendors, dealers, and associates joined in the annual Fun Run/Walk started by George Muffick, the Northeast Regional Sales Manager of Cobalt Boats and Marker One.

In 2008, Muffick had successfully fought off cancer and this fueled his desire to start up the Fun Run/Walk. The proceeds were destined to be donated to a charitable cause each year.

This year being its seventh, the event is something Muffick says everyone looks forward to at the dealer meeting.

“It’s a time to put down the books and get outside and raise money for a great cause,” he enthuses.

In the spirit of fun, they also held a Silent Auction where dealers could bid on the teams they hoped would win the Fun Run/Walk. A commemorative hand-etched bottle of Cobalt wine showcasing the American Flag from Sherwin Family Vineyards was on the line. Mike Tutor from Marine Sales of Pickwick was the happy winner to take the bottle home, thanks to his generous and symbolic bid of $9,110 that alluded to September 11th.

Very appropriate, as the back of the bottle reads that it was proudly created “in remembrance of those lost on September 11, 2001.”

In the aftermath of the generosity-rich dealer meeting, a check will be sent to the American Heart Association for $15,360. Cobalt dealer German Brothers also donated $750 to the Folds of Honor program, rounding out the philanthropic outpouring quite nicely.

Cobalt Boats and Marker One want to thank all of the dealers who supported and participated in the events.

“We are especially thankful for our very generous group of dealers, and we are pleased to report that the winners have all donated their "winnings" back as donations,” says VP of Sales and Marketing Gavan Hunt.

It won’t stop here. This year they’re also excited to donate to the Folds of Honor program through their flagpole initiative.

“As of January 1, 2015, for each flagpole sold, we will donate the proceeds to this wonderful organization in honor of those who have fought for our country,” Hunt explains.
