The sad reality is the harder it is to do something, the less likely we’re going to do it. Okay, so that doesn’t apply to everything in life, but that statement feels true when it comes to putting out your boat fenders when approaching a dock. If I have to tie the rope around the rail and adjust the height each time, chances are good I’ll just ask someone onboard to “keep me away from the dock” as I run into the marina store for ice.
