Crownline Challenges The "Deck Boat" Labels Of The Past

Get the inside scoop on Crownline’s new Eclipse E27!

October 2017 Feature Web Exclusive

Crownline has been up to some interesting designwork on its latest model, and we have the scoop on this new crossover sterndrive – the Eclipse E27.

“Crownline is a design driven company, designed by boaters, for boaters.  This new E series model is the perfect example of that,” Amy Turner, director of sales and marketing, shared with us.

How so, you may ask? To start, this versatile model adds a nice raising of the bar to the traditional idea of deck boat performance and style. The E27’s deck space is artfully designed to ensure every bit is attributed to comfort and entertainment. This manufacturer’s trademarked “Hot Tub” style bow lounge seats come with flip-up arm rests for maximum comfort. In the aft, a touch of the finger takes you from sitting to reclining on the electric sun lounge seat, or all the way flat for a perfect ray-catching sun lounge. The full wrap-around swim platform with a soft touch mat offers easy, safe boarding for swimmers or watersports enthusiasts taking off their skis and wakeboards. The standard handheld transom shower stands ready to rinse your feet or cool you down, while eight of Crownline’s trademarked Social Swim splash-proof Wet Sounds stereo speakers heat things up with incredible sound quality. Music-lovers will love taking charge of their tunes with the standard Kicker KMC10 stereo, which boasts an IP67 waterproof rating, full color LCD display, variable dimmer with day and night mode, AM/FM weatherband multi-regional tuner, USB w/iPod, iPhone & Android charge, AUX input and Bluetooth.

While we’re at the helm, let’s talk about the beautifully appointed, hand-wrapped dash. It features a Raymarine 7-inch highly visible touchscreen with sonar and engine information display and a classy black diamond steering wheel that’s new for the 2018 model year. Stepping back you’ll see the comfortable J-shaped cockpit area, designed for entertaining with plenty of room to move about. A side-mount table can easily transform the cockpit or bow for a leisurely lunch or romantic dinner, then stow away in the undermount cockpit storage drawer to free up space afterwards. Additional storage areas abound for all your gear and boating toys, thoughtfully finished with an impact-resistant non-marring coating for durability.

The E27 also comes with a fully-enclosed oversized head compartment that has enough room for changing as well. Custom cabinetry with a granite countertop, electric flush marine toilet, a handheld shower, porta potti and an opening portlight beautify the inside, with a handy netted insert in the inside of the head door for stowing away any personal items.

Additional eye-catching features include ambiance-setting cockpit mood lighting perfect for early morning or evening cruises, snap-in cockpit carpet, depth finder, removable coolers, color-matched bimini top, bow and cockpit canvas, battery charger, dual battery switch, stainless steel windshield header and lock, a deluxe tandem axle, color-matched trailer with swing tongue, LED lights and brakes on both axles, and much more.

Even loaded as it is with standards, you can still customize the boat to make it your own. From gelcoat patterns and colors to beautifully designed new interior choices, flooring, tower/arch options, and engine applications from 300hp to a powerful 430hp, put your personal touch on this Crownline.

Speaking of horsepower, you won’t be able to help but throttle down with such power paired with the performance of Crownline’s F.A.S.T. Tab hull design, built to handle rough waters. Perfect for tubing, skiing, wakeboarding and knee boarding, this watersports-friendly deckboat comes with a standard stainless-steel ski tow rail with eye and an optional wakeboard tower.

The E27 meets or exceeds quality and safety standards set by the US Coast Guard. For younger boaters, the cockpit is easily accessed through the gated transom walk-thru, and strategically-placed stainless steel grab handles, deep freeboards, flush-fit bow walk-thru door and dual deluxe bucket seats with flip-up bolsters for increased visibility all translate to safer boating. It’s clear that Crowline doesn’t cut any corners, further emphasized by the fact that the E27 weighs more than other manufacturer’s models of this size—testifying that it cuts no corners when it comes to quality design and production.  Crownline’s superior hull design is built to handle rough waters with ease, with no compromise to safety, performance or fuel efficiency.
