Captain Todd Brill’s New Enclosure

February 2018 Feature Web Exclusive

Last year, Captain Todd Brill, owner of Gold Coast Fishing Co., shared his impressions on his new Lund LX200 pontoon boat he recently purchased. He was pleasantly surprised by its versatility and the boat went “above and beyond” his expectations.

They say all good things must come to an end, but Brill did not want that to be the case with his new boat.

“After fishing my new Lund pontoon all summer, I had to return to my covered v-bottom boat for the fall/winter steelhead season here in Michigan,” shared Brill. “I have fished the boat for many years, but after one week back on the old v-bottom, I wanted to be fishing my new pontoon.”

The only problem was that his boat didn’t have an enclosure in order to be able to fish during the winter.

Captain Brill worked with his local boat dealer, High’s Marine, to create an enclosure for his pontoon so he can enjoy it throughout all the seasons. The team spent about a month working on the enclosure, and it was made specifically for easy assembly and removal.

“I built the top so all you have to do is remove 12 bolts, and it comes off,” said Brill.

As soon as good weather hits, the bimini top will replace his custom enclosure with ease in order to really enjoy those summer fishing trips. His clients are also more than happy with the new setup.

“I have had nothing but compliments on the new top,” explained Brill. “They love the room and comfort of the new boat.”

Brill refused to let the seasons stop him from fishing on his new pontoon, and his ingenuity and local boat dealer made it possible to enjoy it all year round.
