Seattle An Early Hit

February 2007 News

More than 42,000 boating enthusiasts visited the first four days of the 10-day Seattle Boat Show, which ended Saturday at Qwest Field Event Center and South Lake Union.

On Jan. 27, a total of 15,508 people attended the show, breaking a single-day mark since the indoor portion moved to Qwest Field in 2000. On the water at South Lake Union, a record 5,598 passed through the gates, beating the previous single-day record for that venue as well.

The boat show, held Jan. 25 through Feb. 3, featured 1,000 recreational watercraft, seminars and the latest innovations in accessories at the Qwest Field Event Center, plus 200 boats at Chandler's Cove on South Lake Union. The event is produced by the Northwest Marine Trade Association and Northwest Yacht Brokers Association.
