Oregon Company Joins Network

March 2007 News

Wiggins Towboat Company, a mini-tug service on central Oregon's Yaquina Bay and River, has been tapped as a BoatU.S. approved towing responder.

Owned and operated by USCG-licensed Capt. Grant L. Snyder, Wiggins operates a 27-foot, 275-hp harbor tug in the port of Toledo, Ore., at Port Dock No. 1. A second response vessel, a 27-foot twin-screw mobile tug, is pre-positioned on a three-axle trailer.

The vessels have a full complement of towing equipment, including extra fuel and battery jump packs to handle every breakdown from running aground to running out of fuel.

The company provides harbor tug and mobile-ready service to the central Oregon coast for commercial and recreational mariners.
