New California Marina Is Coming

July 2007 News

A new marina under construction in California's San Diego County is expected to open at the end of the year.

The 250-slip marina will be located along the Sweetwater River flood channel in National City, according to a report in the San Diego Tribune.

Pier 32 LLC, the marina developers, will operate under a 40-year lease with the Port of San Diego, which owns the land.

Developers say the new marina will accommodate boaters from the San Diego Bay area, which has a limited number of marinas and long waiting lists, according to the newspaper.

National City
and the Port of San Diego have been trying to get a marina built along the channel for nearly two decades.
