Yamaha Marine extends warranties

April 2008 News

Customers will receive a full year of warranty coverage, from date of purchase, against defects in materials or workmanship direct from Yamaha. Certain exclusions and limitations apply and are detailed in the limited-warranty statement.

The company previously offered 90 days guarantee. The change is effective on products purchased as of Jan. 1.

"Now our customers have the same length of warranty period on over-the-counter parts, accessories, instruments and gauges as they would if the parts, accessories, instruments or gauges were dealer- or builder-installed prior to original registration of the boat and engine package," said John Rigsby, national sales manager, in a statement.

Yamaha Marine Group, the sole distributor of Yamaha marine products in the United States, is based in Kennesaw, Ga.
