Firefly Plus Flashlight

Published in the August 2008 Issue August 2008

This handy little light named after a popular bug combines a dazzlingly bright strobe and a focused-beam flashlight for working on deck at night. It is also ruggedly built to ensure reliable operation; both lights are powered by two AA batteries. A positive three-position switch prevents accidental illumination, but care must be exercised to ensure that there is always enough battery power available to power the strobe in an emergency. The Firefly retails for $31.99.
