Sea Ray plant hits safety milestone

November 2008 News

Rick Stone, president of Sea Ray, said, "This is a remarkable accomplishment that took more than four years to achieve. We are very proud of our Riverview employees, and we will continue to aim for record-setting milestones like this in the future."
A lost-time incident is an injury to an employee that prevents him or her from returning to work the next day. The Riverview facility reached 4 million time-loss-free hours on September 12, 2008, after completing four years and 10 days of safe operation-and counting.
"I've been employed by Sea Ray almost 24 years. In this time, I've been part of many achievements and awards. But the greatest award is having people go home to their families each day unharmed," said Mike Fritts, general manager of the Riverview plant.
