Flipped pontoon closes 1-69 shortly

February 2009 News

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Around 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning, a semi-truck pulling a pontoon boat driving southbound on Interstate 69 lost control and sent the pontoon flipping in the middle of the road.

According to the Dekalb County Sheriff's Department, as the truck drove under the overpass at exit 126, a slick spot in the road caused the trailer carrying the pontoon to weave back and forth out-of-control. The trailer hit the median, broke free from the truck and sent the pontoon to flip about 5 or six times in the middle of the southbound lanes.

Police closed the Interstate for a short time until the pontoon was pulled out of the way. The semi pulling the pontoon was not damaged and no one was injured.
