Right Anglers

Greeks in ancient times believed the god of the sea, Poseidon, and Amphritrite, goddess of the sea, sired a mighty Greek god-Triton-who became known as the messenger of the deep.

Appropriately named, Triton Boats is a division of Brunswick Corporation and has been a leading manufacturer of aluminum and fiberglass fishing boats as well as pontoon boats in the United States. Being a division of Brunswick, the world's largest producer of marine engines and boats, Triton Boats has at its disposal strength and expertise from a company twice the size of the next largest marine company, with more than 160 years of recreational business experience.

Brunswick began in 1845 when John Brunswick, a Swiss immigrant, began the Cincinnati Carriage Making Company in Cincinnati, making carriages as well as cabinets, tables and chairs and soon thereafter, the product they initially became famous for, billiards tables. The family company not only survived but also prospered through both times of plenty as well as the Great Depression. It wasn't until 1963 when the first non-family member to lead Brunswick took the reins of the company. Brunswick entered the marine industry in 1960, and acquired Triton Boats in 2005, which was then a nine-year-old company. Four years later, Triton Boats is in North America, Latin America, Europe, Japan, Africa and Australia, with resources that employ the industry's best people and allow them to fund the ideas, innovations and investments required to be an industry leader.

In July 2007, Triton Boats made a bold move, or rather, a big splash. At a Brunswick dealer meeting in Nashville, Tenn., Triton released a new line of pontoon boats-Cypress Cay, a slick new kind of pontoon with innovative interiors, user-friendly features, luxurious amenities, exhilarating performance and rock-solid construction.

Cypress Cay pontoons were built on the belief that you don't need to travel hundreds of miles and spend a whole week to go on vacation. You can just sneak away to a Cypress Cay pontoon and have all the vacation you need.

Cypress Cay pontoons by Triton Boats feature a solid fiberglass helm station with built-in cooler, acid-washed pontoons, starboard gates that don't sacrifice seating room, extra-wide four-step boarding ladders, extra-large convertible tops, changing rooms and portable toilets on most models. Most of the lounge seating and all of the mooring covers used in Cypress Cay pontoons are made in their state-of-the-art Ft. Wayne, Ind., manufacturing facility-not out-sourced-for superior fit and finish.

Cypress Cay pontoons come in five distinctive series, or "destinations": Cancun, Cozumel, Cabana, Striper and Angler.

The Angler series is designed for active families who enjoy fishing as well as skiing and just plain relaxing. The Angler series comes in 20-, 22- and 25-foot lengths. Built on the sporty Cabana platform, these sensational boats come with pedestal fishing chairs, rod storage locker and deluxe fishing station with wash-down hose. The optional T3 package adds a 25-inch diameter center pontoon and 50-gallon fuel capacity.

The Angler Ltd pontoon from Cypress Cay, released in April 2008, offers the perfect pontoon for the luxury-minded fisherman. Requests for an upscale interior re-design on the already-popular Angler series pontoons led to the Angler Ltd. The product development team at Cypress Cay has responded with an oversize livewell at the console with a lid that doubles as a cutting board and measuring tool. At the rear is a second work area with extra storage for all your fishing gear and tools.

The Angler Ltd comes standard with a 20-foot washdown hose and optional synthetic vinyl flooring. Whether professional or recreational, man or woman, the Angler Ltd is the most luxurious choice for anyone.

Cypress Cay has a long list of special features to enable you to customize your boat to the way you want it, from trolling motor outlets to fish locators. A Humminbird fish locator or Lowrance X50 B&W will pinpoint where the fish are swimming, and four fish seats with removable posts will give you plenty of places on the boat to comfortably pick your casting spot. Once the fish start flying into the boat, an aerated livewell will keep them alive and fresh until it's time for dinner. Your fishing rods won't be in the way when you're under way, thanks to a rod box and rod holders, either adjustable or fixed vertical.

Though fishing is essential, it won't be the only thing you can do on the boat. While you wait for the fish to bite, you can listen to your choice of tunes on a SeaWorthy stereo (a product of ProSpec) with two speakers and MP3 jack, while you're chilling out with a cold soda from the 36-quart cooler in the fiberglass helm stand, or lounging on the stern sun lounge. If you're having no luck fishing but the cool water is calling your name, you can change into your swimming suit in the changing room and clean yourself off when you get back in, thanks to the wash down system, which includes nozzle, hose, pump and holder. Other special features on this boat include a manual fire extinguisher with holder, four-step stern-entry ladder, two front cleats and stainless U-bolts aft cleats.

So go ahead, plan your next fishing destination-on a Cypress Cay Angler Ltd.
