Boaters of America Say "Thank You" to Troops

May 2009 Feature
B.O.A.S.T.Y. (Boaters of America Say Thank You) is being organized as a national event to get boat owners across the country to take military service men and women out for a day of fun on the water. This new non-profit organization is the idea of Branden deBuhr, as well as members of a boating forum website.
<
"As organizers of B.O.A.S.T.Y., we are calling on boaters everywhere to take time this summer to give thanks to our troops," says deBuhr. "It doesn't matter if your boat is large or small, it doesn't matter if you boat on a lake or a river and it doesn't matter how often you boat, it only matters that you care enough to make a difference in someone's life."
<
There are military men and women, disabled veterans, and retired veterans, living in our communities who would greatly appreciate a day of relaxation and boating. Additionally, there are troops that will be returning home from fighting overseas who deserve our thanks and gratitude for their service to our country. B.O.A.S.T.Y.  is a great way to show your appreciation.
<
B.O.A.S.T.Y.  is all about giving back to those who have given so much for us. It is an excellent opportunity to talk with, listen to and get to know our military while spending a pleasurable day on the boat.
<
In addition, deBuhr is looking for businesses and individuals willing to be B.O.A.S.T.Y.  sponsors to help fund this event. To learn more about B.O.A.S.T.Y., view the event dates, sign up as a host or guest, or to make a charitable donation, please log onto www.BOASTY.org. Our service men and women work every day to make a difference in our lives. You and B.O.A.S.T.Y.  can make a difference in theirs. Visit www.BOASTY.org for more information or go to the sign up page at doit.boasty.org.
