West Marine issued a final call for entries for its "Green Product of the Year" award.
As part of West Marine's mission to improve and protect marine habitats and reduce its impact on the environment, it will award one prize of $10,000 to the designated official winner (void where prohibited by law) at the 2010 Miami International Boat Show. The competition is free and open to individuals, manufacturers, distributors and/or inventors of boating products.
Products will be judged on eco-effectiveness, cost effectiveness, applicability and breadth of market impact, degree of innovation and compliance with official rules.
The deadline to enter is Nov. 1.
To become an entrant, you must mail the following:
* A complete product description.
* When claims are made for reductions or elimination of pollutants, it must be identified as tested or estimated.
* When possible, submit a working prototype, model or sample of the product or product design.
All entries with a copy of a signed contest registration form should be sent by Nov. 1 to: West Marine Products, Green Product of the Year, Mailbox Drop No. K6, 500 Westridge Drive, Watsonville, CA 95076.
