MBIA elects new directors

Four marine businessmen were elected to serve as directors of the Michigan Boating Industries Association.

Rob McCarthy, of Lakeside Marine Group in Harrison Twp., and Greg Krueger, of Jefferson Beach Yacht Sales in St. Clair Shores, were re-elected to serve second three-year terms as statewide directors of the MBIA.

Chris Lisowicz, of North Shore Marina, in Spring Lake, was elected to serve as Southwest region director for a three-year term. Jim Coburn, of Flagstar Bank in Troy, was elected to a new associate member director position, also for a three-year term.

Eric Foster, of Belle Maer Harbor in Harrison Township, was appointed chairman for 2010, while McCarthy was appointed vice chair. Steve Remias, of MacRay Harbor, Harrison Township, was appointed secretary/treasurer.

Other directors on the board include Tom Haag, of Colony Marine, St. Clair Shores; Jim Adams, of Freeway Sports Center, Fenton; Kathleen Torresen, of Torresen Marine, Muskegon; Steve Popkie, of W.C. Beardslee, Harsens Island; and Kurt Hoffman, of Windjammer Marina & Sport Center, Oden.
