Garmin named `supplier of choice' by association

September 2010 News

Garmin International announced that the American Boatbuilders Association selected the company as a preferred supplier of choice for its chart plotter, radar, autopilot, sonar, VHF radio and other related marine navigation device and product offerings.

The ABA is a coalition of 13 leading independent boat manufacturers in the United States. Collectively, ABA members boast a boat portfolio that spans from 16 to 58 feet and they produce more than 15 percent of all boats 16 feet and longer that are built in the U.S., according to Garmin.

Garmin was selected as a preferred supplier of choice for the ABA and its members for the next three years

"We are thrilled and humbled that the ABA has selected Garmin as a preferred supplier of choice for marine electronics," said Al Sundoro, Garmin's director of marine OEM sales and marketing, in a statement. "Garmin has repeatedly designed and delivered reliable, industry-leading technology to mariners and we're confident that ABA members will leverage and benefit from Garmin's innovation and integrated electronics system, as well as from the worldwide support network we have in place."

The ABA member portfolio includes Chaparral Boats, Cobalt Boats, Correct Craft, Ebbtide Corp., Godfrey Marine, Grady-White Boats, Monterey Boats, Regal Marine Industries, Rinker Boat Co., Tiara, Pursuit, Stingray Boats and Formula by Thunderbird Products.
