RBFF unveils new recruitment tool

October 2010 News

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation launched a promotion to recruit ambassadors for its Anglers' Legacy program, a national mission from the Take Me Fishing campaign that asks outdoor enthusiasts to introduce at least one newcomer to the sport.

"The Bassador," a talking fish featured in a series of viral videos, encourages current ambassadors to recruit new members. For each friend they get to take the Anglers' Legacy Pledge, ambassadors earn a chance to win a trip to the Bassmaster Classic Feb. 18-20, 2011 in New Orleans.

"The Bassador is an exciting way that Anglers' Legacy ambassadors can share their passion for boating and fishing while supporting the industry by bringing newcomers into the sport," RBFF president and CEO Frank Peterson says in a statement. "This new recruitment tool will help us grow the Anglers' Legacy program and inspire new boaters and anglers to participate in the sport."

The Bassador videos are hosted on AnglersLegacy.org and have been distributed to the program's more than 230,000 ambassadors.
