Investor buys stake in fishing TV network

January 2011 News

Altitude Sports & Entertainment acquired a 50 percent interest in WFN: World Fishing Network, North America's only 24/7 fishing network.

As part of the transaction, WFN will consolidate its U.S. operations in Denver - including technical operations at Altitude's Network Operations Center in Centennial, Colo.

"We are thrilled to join with Insight Sports as partners in the World Fishing Network," said Matt Hutchings, president and CEO of Altitude Sports & Entertainment, in a statement. "WFN is a first-class operation and its team, led by Mark Rubinstein, has done a fantastic job in the launch and rollout of this high-quality network. We look forward to working alongside them to build the WFN business and expand its brand."

WFN is available to more than 20 million households in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

"By partnering with Altitude Sports, WFN will have access to enhanced programming, marketing, sales, technical and other benefits that will enable us to provide the leading cross-platform media experience for the large and underserved community of passionate anglers," Rubinstein added.
