High school students refurbish pontoon boats as part of entrepreneurial program

March 2011 News

Vocational students from Chester Area High School are celebrating a milestone in their first entrepreneurial project - refurbishing pontoon boats.

The class on Friday plans to present the keys to their first completed pontoon as part of the Spirit of an American Entrepreneur program.

Maximum Promotions President Mark Nelsen worked with the school to start a pontoon refurbishing business as real-world, entrepreneurial training for students. The students learned vocational skills, experienced facets of owning and running a business and learned about the importance of recycling.

The next pontoon is waiting to be refurbished with a third boat currently in negotiations.
