Pontoon boat donated to sheriff's dive team

April 2011 News

A valuable gift is coming to the Richland County Sheriff's Dive Team.

Sheriff Steve Sheldon has told the Commissioners it's a 25-foot pontoon boat, in excellent condition.

The six-year-old boat was donated by Chuck Kilgore, a friend of one of the dive team members.

Sheriff Sheldon says the seven-member dive team gets called-out several times a year, to rescue drowning victims or to search for contraband or stolen property dumped into a lake, and this pontoon boat will be very helpful.
