Web traffic still high for dealer-cost website

April 2011 News

The controversial website SeeDealerCost.com announced this week that its site continues to garner strong interest.

In the three weeks since it went live the site has seen traffic from 92 countries, more than 27,000 unique visitors and 300,000 page views. It is ranked at 67,344 in the United States by Alexa, according to the company.

The site is designed to provide consumers with information about boats, power sports products, and eventually recreational vehicles. It offers product and pricing information, including the dealer cost for products.

Many in the boating industry have said information on the site is inaccurate and will do nothing to help consumers, but could hurt dealers. They also say the site is unreliable with the company behind it refusing to identify itself.

Dave Taylor, an industry veteran and spokesman for the site, has repeatedly told Soundings Trade Only that he could not comment on the owners of the site.
