'Christmas in July' boat parade fills White Lake with the holiday spirit

July 2011 News

The "Christmas in July" Boat Parade filled White Lake with holiday-themed boats under sunny skies Saturday.

Family teams decorated pontoon boats to compete in the annual event sponsored by the White Lake Citizens League and judges had a challenge to identify the top boats.

Rick Scorey and team took first place with a boat that featured family members caroling while pulling Santa in his sleigh.

Charlene Graham's team took second place in a boat which featured a Christmas tree on the bow and presents on the canopy. There were 14 holiday entries in this year's parade. Prizes were donated by White Lake Area merchants.
