Legend Boats buys new manufacturing facility

July 2011 News

Legend Boats purchased a new 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in north-central Arkansas, the company announced.

The Midway, Ark., facility will house all production and operations of the company and will replace the current factory.

"Sales of our boats are through the roof and we just can't keep up with the demand in our current facility the way we'd like to; we need more space," company president Randy Qualls said in a statement.

Legend Boats currently resides in a 20,000-square-foot facility in Midway, Ark., and produces about 300 boats a year. Current production schedules have lead times at nearly 16 weeks on new orders, so the new manufacturing facility is needed, the company said.

Legend Boats is a custom bass-boat builder with three models ranging from 19 to 21 feet.
