More than 300 agencies involved in Operation Dry Water

LEXINGTON, Ky. - During the weekend of June 24-26, 313 agencies from around the country registered and participated in Operation Dry Water, a national weekend of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) education and enforcement aimed at reducing alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities. 

According to a release from the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, as of June 29, 41 percent of the participating agencies have reported their results. So far they have reported: 238 BUIs, 24,198 vessels checked, 4,007 safety warnings, 3,012 citations issued, 43,631 boaters contacted, 23,027 officer hours, and 2251 officers participating.
