Newport International Show records improved numbers

October 2011 News
NEWPORT, R.I. - Newport International Boat Show producers and exhibitors are reporting increased sales and attendance at this year's international boat show, which ran from Sept. 15-18.

Numbers at this year's boat show were similar to levels that the marine industry saw pre-recession, or about 15 percent higher than attendance in 2009 and 5 percent over 2010. This drove positive sales and leads at the show, according to exhibitors.

"We saw many familiar friends as well as met with brand new prospects, several of whom have already requested proposals from us," said Sarah Fawle, director of marketing and PR at Morris Yachts. "It was definitely a positive outcome for the sales team."

The 2012 Newport International Boat Show is set to occur Sept. 13-16, 2012. More information can be found at www.newportboatshow.com.
