Group seeks buyer for sportboat builder

An unnamed Southeast-based sportboat builder is up for sale, according to 321 Capital Partners, which is facilitating the process.

"After years of profitable ownership, principals of this renowned boat manufacturer have retained 321 Capital Partners, seeking entirety sale options for the business. Owned and operated in the same location for over 40 years, this manufacturer maintains a reputation for quality and craftsmanship while enjoying the enviable position of being virtually debt free," according to 321 Capital Partners' website.

"Ownership is evaluating scenarios to responsibly exit the business while maximizing value to shareholders," the ad states.

The company builds and markets a line of sport and recreational fiberglass boats ranging from 18 to 28 feet, including a full complement of bowriders, cuddy cabins and deckboat models. Most models are powered by inboard engines, but some can be customized to outboards.

Since 1980 the company has won 23 awards, including seven Boat of the Year Awards and multiple customer satisfaction awards. The company sells through an array of manufacturer's reps and dealers throughout the United States, Canada and internationally.
