Watch For Bursts

Published in the February 2013 Issue February 2013 News

Whether you’re out on the boat, fishing, hiking etc. you want the most protective gear you can get—rain or shine. The Oregon Cloudburst Rain Hat is a one-of-a-kind and a must-have for all its versatile purposes. Besides the coolest name for a hat, you never truly know when the clouds will burst and it will start to rain, or when the sun’s UV rays are potentially burning you.

The Cloudburst, made by Sunday Afternoons in Oregon, is proven to prevent cancer by not letting in the UV rays from the sun. The dark underbrim cuts reflected UV rays. Reflected UV rays are up to 90 percent as powerful as direct sun. This hat is made with DermaSafe material that guarantees an Ultraviolet Protection Factor of 50+.

These advanced technologies greatly aid in the prevention of sunburn and long-term skin damage. The UVA and UVB protective qualities of DermaSafe do not wash out or degrade for the lifetime of the garment. With a 4-inch front brim and 6-inch rear veil, it will keep rain and or sun outside of your collar while the interior wicking liner assists in evaporation, cooling and breathability. Along with being fully waterproof, it comes with a chinstrap and cord lock which also make it great for traveling.

The hat comes in all different colors including: Cream/Sand, Sand/Black, Woodland/Charcoal and Black/Black for $48. It is available in M and L for both men and women. (www.sundayafternoons.com)
