Speakers (Badly) Needed

Published in the September 2013 Issue September 2013 News

The Rudolph family in Rockford, Ill., was hooked up with a complete JL Audio sound system, thanks to the support of friends, as well as sympatric voters. Jerry Rudolph entered the PDB magazine Facebook contest last summer by submitting a few lines on why he felt his boat needed a new system.

“Our 1999 Chris craft 23 Sport Deck speakers were not very impressive,” recalls Jerry. “We couldn’t hear them while on plane and they were not very effective while beached or swimming around the boat.”

Because of those reasons Jerry purchased new speakers and an amp at the beginning of the summer, but they ended up being taken from his garage when the door was accidently left open.

“A few months later we saw the PDB contest and begged everyone we knew to vote for us and it worked,” says Jerry. “These speakers are amazing! We can hear them clearly while driving the boat and they’re a lot of fun while docked! Our boat installer was impressed with the performance in such a small size.”

Jerry received almost a hundred votes more on his Facebook post than anyone else and everyone can agree that they went to a deserving winner. The JL Audio package included two pairs of MX650-CCX-SG-TB Coaxial speakers, a MX10IB3-SG-TB subwoofer and a M700/5 amplifier. For more information on JL Audio visit www.jlaudio.com.

Watch for future promotions and contests on the PDB Facebook page for upcoming giveaways and prizes.
