Hustler Prop Benefits Pontoons

April 2014 Industry

A boat's overall performance relies not only on the right motor, but on the right propeller to ensure the engine runs in the ideal rpm range. Doing so delivers better hole shot, acceleration and top-end speed. It can also improve fuel economy. To its wide range of aluminum Hustler props, Turning Point Propellers has added a powerful new lower-pitch, four-blade, 15 by 15 model. This new pitch works well on dual console, center console and walleye boats, along with larger pontoons.

The new Hustler 15 by 15 prop comes in left and right hand rotation to accommodate twin engine applications. It's ideal for 90 to 300hp engines with a 4 and 3/4-inch gearcase, including Alpha One, Bravo One and Volvo SX sterndrives.

Like other Hustler props, the new 15 by 15 model is manufactured with Turning Point's exclusive squeeze cast process. This produces a propeller with the finest mechanical properties possible, and a tight grain structure far superior to conventional die-cast models. The company's durable new Ultra Coat finish is more corrosion-resistant than paint, and adds a uniform, glossy look to the prop.

To guide users to the optimal propeller for their boat and engine, Turning Point offers its exclusive Prop Wizard online selection tool at www.tpprops.com. The new four-blade Hustler 15 by 15 prop with housing and hub retails for $192.50. Replacement housings cost $140. (904-900-7739/www.turningpointpropellers.com)
