Caravelle Razor E-toon

June 2014 Industry Web Exclusive

We saw the Razor E-toon on the water in Miami and had to get a closer looks. With a fiber glass hull, a new era of pontoons is coming about.

The Americus, Ga., builder behind this new ‘toon has been making fiberglass boats since 1966. With such a strong fiberglass background, it only made sense for them to go that way with their pontoon line. Besides a completely new hull idea, the styling inside the boat is unique as well. The look is youthful with a fiberglass fence that comes down around the front. The helm is more like a racing wheel and the graphics on the side will leave you the talk of the lake.

This patent-pending Revolution Etoon hull can do more than traditional aluminum when it comes to shape. Fiberglass has more options for molding. The uniquely shaped hull allowed this boat to get on plane quickly with little bowrise.

The company’s president, Chad Roberson, said in 2012 the company had five employees and 23 dealers. That has grown to 145 employees and 50 dealers.

“The spirit of Americus is large and has a large heart beat,” Roberson said, adding that the company will continue to grow. Now boats produced by Caravelle in Americus are being sold internationally in countries such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most recently, Dubai.

Created in 1966, the Caravelle boat line has experienced over 45 years of success by providing consumers the highest quality of powerboats. Manufactured with top quality materials, the boats are extremely durable, making them a good investment for the consumer. Caravelle is home to several recreational powerboat lines, including 12 Key Largo sport fishing boat models, five Interceptor performance boat models, and most recently this Razor E-toon pontoon model.
