Premier Promotes Boat Safety Course for Employees

July 2014 Industry

Pontoon & Deck Boat Magazine is proud to promote safe boating. We have heard plenty of stories of how taking simple steps saved lives. We were excited to hear Premier Marine, makers of Premier pontoons, has announced the launch of a program that will reimburse employees and their families who participate in the Minnesota Department of Natural Resource’s Boat Operator Safety Course.

“We’re always trying to promote safe boating and encourage our employees and their children to educate themselves on boat and water safety,” says Premier President Bob Menne. “We hope that this program will make it easier for them to be the best boaters they can be.”

The safety course covers a range of subjects including boat maintenance, navigation, safe boat operation, Minnesota boating regulations, and emergency situations.

The course can be taken online (www.boat-ed.com/minnesota), through a home-study packet, or in a classroom. After passing a certification test, participants receive a lifetime Minnesota Boater Education Certificate. Passing the test is a Minnesota requirement for unsupervised 12- to 17-year olds who operate a boat over 25 horsepower or unsupervised 14- to 17-year olds who operate a PWC.

Boat-Ed.com offers a full range of safe boating classes for every state. Take advantage of this wonderful program and make your home lake safer for everyone.
