Can You Hear What We're Saying?

February 2015 News Web Exclusive

“Gentleman, start your engines!”

“Uh, have you started them yet?”

That’s about what things are like at Mercury Marine, where this company’s aim is to design engines with the least decibel presence in the market.

Mercury Marine President John Pfeifer got together with reporter Jeff Flock to show FOX Business just how quiet Mercury’s engines run. This video of their feature will show you the inside of the sound lab where Mercury's testing took place.

“Consumers today in the marine industry want smooth and quiet,” Pfeifer told Fox Business. “They want great performance and they don’t want to hear the engine."

As boaters, we’re definitely grateful for this kind of exciting progress being made in the boating world. Being able to more easily hold conversations over the sound of the motor is something anyone could appreciate!

Can you hear me applauding?
