Lightning RP1 Pak Portable Battery Charger: PDB TESTED No. 186

December 2015 Product PDB Staff

There are plenty of other battery chargers on the market today, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this one. The RP1 Lightning Pak has multiple features including a 5 volt USB port that provides portable power when you need it. This amazing Lightning Pak has enough power to jump start your boat battery 15 times.

I’ve kept the RP1 on boat for months and when I finally got a chance to use it on another boat who had run the stereo a little too long at the sand bar, I was almost giddy with excitement. Even though it had been stored under a seat and hadn’t been charged in months, it fired the boat up with out any problems.

The RP1 retails for $129.99 and will hold a charge from -4 Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Any product you can store under a seat and forget about until you need it is great in our book and that’s why we feel every boat owner should have one. Worth noting, this manufacturer also offers other types of portable chargers that are worthy of a closer look.
