PDB Visits the Honda Marine Event

September 2016 Industry, News

This past weekend, Honda Marine hosted an event on Lake Lanier in Georgia to showcase their new offerings for the boating industry. While of course there were pontoons on display featuring the newest Honda engines, they also showed off a new range of 4-stroke engines designed to fit on smaller boats.

Engines in the 200hp and up category have driven sales in the outboard industry as a whole, but Honda says its mid-range and portable engine sales lead the pack.

“Honda Marine wants to give end users products that exceed their expectations for value and performance,” Honda Marine senior manager Mark DiPietro said on Monday. “That is how you want the entry-level user to enter the market. We are working hard to bring in new people to boating so they can step up in the products they choose.”

PDB had staff on hand to test out the new engines, editor Brady Kay and publisher Greg Larsen. Greg took the opportunity to livestream their impressions of what they saw, but if you missed those when they first went up, check them out below!
