Industry Mourns Dan Robinson of Smoker Craft

March 2017 News

Smoker Craft said regional sales director Dan Robinson died recently after a battle with cancer. He was 48.

A native of McHenry, Ill., Robinson began working with the company as a Starcraft dealer, representing Duchow’s Marine. Having attended many dealer council meetings, his retail expertise helped direct the company’s product development, marketing and sales strategies.

In 2011 he joined Smoker Craft Inc. as a sales representative and was quickly promoted to regional director.

“Dan was a valuable member of the Smoker Craft team,” the company said in a statement. “He will be remembered for his contagious energy, enthusiasm for boating and many product design ideas. He was a friend to all.”

Robinson loved to travel and had an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed wake boarding, surfing and snowboarding. He was a teacher and coach, taking great delight in instructing friends and family in any type of water sport, the company said.

First and foremost, he was a family man, Smoker Craft said. Robinson was a loving husband, father and son. His daughters were his greatest pride and joy, and he enjoyed attending their school and sporting events. He never missed an opportunity to share his girls’ successes with the greatest of pride in all of their accomplishments, the company said.

He is survived by Jennifer, his wife of 22 years; two daughters, Shealyn and Brin Robinson; his father, Hugh (Arlene) Robinson; a brother, Richard (Laura) Robinson; sisters Tammy Kolodziejczak and Kelly (Jeff) Vorisek; sisters-in-law, Amanda (Darren) Henley and Kelly (Steve) Siegel; parents-in-law, Robert (Donna) McNally; and many nieces and nephews.
