Sebago Cyphon Sea Sport: PDB TESTED No. 217

May 2017 PDB Tested Brady L. Kay

We’ve highlighted boating shoes from Sebago in the past, but in all honestly these just might be our new favorites. There is just something about its line of water performance footwear that draws us in and the Cyphon Collection has us particularly excited.

Since 1970, Sebago sailing shoes have been worn by championship teams and have a proven track record of performance. The Cyphon Sea Collection taps into the brand’s sailing heritage while providing true performance for today’s water enthusiast.

We decided to review the Cyphon Sea Sport (Navy/Grey) boating shoes and were a little taken back by the striking appearance when we first saw them. These really are a good-looking shoe that we soon discovered are extremely comfortable too.

It has what Sebago refers to as Cross Channel Circulation (C3) technology that is designed to force water out and pull air in for superior breathability and dry-out time. After getting the shoes soaked, with each step the water entering the shoes was forced out through a perforated mesh-covered foot bed, which really impressed us. It’s easy to keep your feet dry and the Lycra-lined collar and heel provide extended comfort.

You can’t go wrong with any of the shoes from the Cyphon Collection, but our favorite is still the Sea Port shoe that retails for $80.
