SkipperBud's Plans Big Changes For Island Cove Marina

October 2017 News Web Exclusive

Island Cove Marina, situated on Cass Lake in Michigan, is now facing a brighter future at the hands of SkipperBud’s. Currently a full service marina with 125 floating docks, fuel dock, brokerage sales, service/repair facilities and a large dry-stack storage building to its name, this place is nonetheless ready for some transformation. We hear that the SkipperBud’s team has immediate plans to add new boat sales to its acquisition and give the marina and grounds a makeover in the next two years. Other renovations include adding a new dry-stack boat storage building, service/sales facilities and new docks.

SkipperBud’s president, Mike Pretasky Jr., shared, “It has always been a great location. It’s easy for boaters to access, being just minutes from M-59 in the heart of Oakland County, on the largest all sports lake…We are committed to this market and not afraid to make a long term investment in Oakland County. With this great location, and our other three dealerships in the Detroit metro area, we are increasing our ability to service boaters.”

With this eye towards increase comes a golden opportunity for the right boat manufacturers to jump onboard. As Pretasky puts it, “I am also looking for new pontoon, sport boat and deck boat lines to round out the new product line-up at this facility.”
