BoatUS Foundation Makes It Easy to Start Your Own Local Life Jacket Loaner Site

May 2018 Feature

Want to be an asset to your community and drum up a little extra foot traffic for your business, marina or boat club? Start your own Life Jacket Loaner site with help from the BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water.

“We’ll show you how, give you signage and publicity materials, and offer discounted life jackets to get up and running quickly and easily,” said BoatUS Foundation Outreach Manager Alanna Keating. Everything is available at BoatUS.org/life-jacket-loaner.

The Foundation’s no-cost “How To Set Up a Life Jacket Loaner Program” guide provides step-by-step instructions and includes information on how to access free or discounted resources for your loaner program. High-quality customizable educational and promotional signs, posters and flyers are available for purchase at discounted rates, or you can simply download the print quality files as well as sign-out forms and a life jacket fitting video at no cost.

Additionally, a partnership between the BoatUS Foundation and Stearns offers groups discounted life jackets directly from the life jacket manufacturer. There is a minimum order of 12 for the red-and-white vest-style Type II and Type III jackets. Infant to adult sizes are available. Logo imprinting and shipping are additional.
