Elco Motor Yachts Announces New Outboards

September 2018 Feature

In celebration of their 125-year anniversary, Elco Motor Yachts has announced that they will be expanding their electric outboard motor range. The new models—the EP5, EP30 and EP50—will join the current EP9.9, EP14 and EP20 models, doubling the company’s range of electric outboard motor offerings.

“These outboards represent the next stage in Elco's electric outboard development,” says Elco’s National Sales Director, Dean Heinemann. “With the trends we're seeing in the industry, both in terms of more boaters going electric and more builders shifting toward outboard propulsion, our expanded outboard line will provide electric outboard options to more boaters and boat builders.”

The new outboard motors will be available with long- or short-shaft models, and with either tiller or remote throttle control. Like the rest of the Elco line of electric outboards, the new motors will feature zero emissions, smooth running with consistent power throughout the speed range, low noise when compared to gas motors, and the proven design and leadingedge electric propulsion technology that has made the company’s outboards the leader in power and performance.

With the new motors, the company’s range of electric outboard motors now spans from 5HP to 50HP, allowing Elco to satisfy the propulsion needs of a wide variety of boaters. The motors will be available for the public September 15, 2018, with pre-orders available to Elco Motor Yachts Authorized Dealers on September 1.
