Zenon Bilas, the celebrated barefoot waterskiing champion and coach, will present at six upcoming National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) boat and sport shows. As part of a new interactive feature—The Discover Boating Experience—he will introduce audiences to the exciting world of wake sports with his usual unbridled enthusiasm and charisma. Confirmed are shows in Chicago, Atlanta, Baltimore, St. Louis, New England (Boston) and Atlantic City.
Entitled "For the Love of Wake Sports," Bilas' presentation will offer an engaging overview of the evolution of wake sports, safety tips and how to get involved in this fast-growing boating segment. Audience participation will provide lively interaction and an opportunity to learn first-hand from an expert in the field.
The 57-year old Bilas returned to national competition after a long hiatus. Most recently, he won the gold medal at the 2018 USA Barefoot Water Ski National Championships—his eighth—and placed on the podium at the 2019 event. Decades of coaching and observing have given him unique insights into what works and what doesn't.
"There's a real need for education in wake sports," said Bilas. "I'm going to jump-start the audiences for the upcoming season and set them on the right track to having fun while being safe."
