PDB TESTED Costa Sunglasses

Published in the September 2021 Issue November 2021 Feature, PDB Tested Heather M. Serrano

Every boater needs a cool pair of shades in their arsenal because we’ve all experienced that blinding glare off the water. To be honest, you’ll never catch me out on a boat without a pair.

The Blackfin PRO sunglasses from Costa check every box when it comes to being the perfect pair of shades for boaters. After all, they’re made with anglers in mind.

This new pair of Costa sunglasses is an enhanced version of one of their most popular and trusted frames, building off their original look and fit. But what makes the Blackfin PRO sunglasses really shine are the six new angler-approved additions that aid in keeping you out on the water longer.

The glasses come with a vented and fully-adjustable nose pad for a custom fit, and they also feature sweat channels and eyewire drains in order to help keep your vision clear. There’s also minimal sun leaking through around the frames, thanks to the side shields and hooding. Plus, the new Hydrolite grips are stickier which keeps them from sliding off your face.

The Blackfin PRO also features Costa’s renowned 580 lens tech, a polarized, color-enhancing glass lens. The lenses are scratch-resistant while also being both lighter and thinner than other polarized glass lenses out there.

You can get these shades with different colored lenses, but the Blue Mirror ones are designed specifically with open reflective water in mind. In short, they’re the perfect fit for boaters like us.

The Blackfin PRO sunglasses retail for $269.
